The CME Group Inc. is headquartered in Chicago and operates the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, Chicago Board of Trade, New York Mercantile Exchange, and The Commodity Exchange. It is one of the largest employers in Chicago but that may change due to crime.

Terry Duffy, CEO of the CME Group, came clean on a recent podcast about what happened to his wife in broad daylight in Chicago. Duffy said: “Three o’clock in the afternoon, my wife got carjacked right in the city of Chicago and it’s absolutely insane what’s going on here.

“Ninety percent of the carjackings in Chicago are done by juveniles. So the juveniles go in and they come right back out literally an hour later. So is that investing in our future?

“I said to the Mayor, I said, ‘Why don’t we invest in our future and invest in these young people?

“They’re worth saving, so let’s do it.’

“But we have to incarcerate them in some way, shape or form.

“We can’t let them do the same thing an hour later.

“That’s not helping them.

“That’s not helping what we’re doing.”

“It was a tough time growing up in Chicago,” he said of growing up on the southwest side of Chicago.

“So yes, we we’ve been on our back foot a few times.

“But I think we try to move forward and hopefully we can do it again,” he said.
