Ron DeSantis Breaks Silence, Fires Back At Trump: “I have people attacking me from all angles, not only did we win reelection, we won with the highest percentage in the history of the state”

Sharing is caring!

Former President Donald Trump is the only candidate who has officially announced his presidential bid but others are circling. Chris Christie is said to be eyeing a longshot run. Nikki Haley has been making comments that lead one to believe she will run.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has kept silent but does well in the polls. Trump addressed his potential rivals to reporters on his plane recently. He took a few swipes at Ron saying:

“There are Republican governors that did not close their states Florida was closed for a long period of time. They’re trying to rewrite history. Ron would have not been governor if it wasn’t for me. So when I hear he might run, I consider that very disloyal.”

As to Haley, Trump said,  “I talked to her for a little while, I said, ‘Look, you know, go by your heart if you want to run.’

“She’s publicly said that ‘I would never run against my president, he was a great president.’”

Today DeSantis fired back at Trump though he did not mention him by name. Ron said when asked by a reporter to address Trump’s comments:

“I roll out of bed, I have people attacking me from all angles. It’s been happening for many, many years.

“If you take a crisis situation like COVID, the good thing about it is when you’re an elected executive, you have to make all kinds of decisions.

“You gotta steer that ship.

“And the good thing is that the people are able to render a judgment on that whether they reelect you or not.

“And I’m happy to say, you know, in my case, not only did we win reelection, we won with the highest percentage of the vote that any Republican governor candidate has in the history of the state of Florida.

“And so what I would just say is – that verdict has been rendered by the people of the state of Florida.”
