Jeremy Renner’s Snowplow Injuries ‘Worse Than Anyone Knows’: Report

Jeremy Renner has played a superhero on the big screen — some report his recent recovery from injuries following a snowplow accident required superhero-type powers.

A six-ton snowcat snowplow rolled on top of the actor on Jan.1.

Fortunately, a physician neighbor responded quickly, applied a tourniquet to Renner’s leg, and provided lifesaving care until the actor was airlifted to a hospital.

The accident occurred at his home near Reno, Nevada.

Initial reports highlighted Renner’s leg injury, but recent reports note Renner sustained multiple serious injuries. According to a new report cited by the New York Post, Renner’s injuries are “worse than anyone knows and could require two years to fully heal.”

According to the Post, a source reportedly told Radar Online that Renner’s condition is worse than had been reported: “It’s much worse than anyone knows,” the source said. “Jeremy is very aware of the fact that he almost died out there.”

“Word is the damage to Jeremy’s chest was so substantial, it had to be reconstructed in surgery,” the source added. “So far, he’s had two surgeries and he will likely require more in the weeks ahead on his leg. Doctors tend to space out operations to allow time for the body’s natural healing process to kick in, and that’s the case here.”

However, true to the superhero character Renner has played, he has responded exceptionally well to several surgeries. His recovery has surprised many and prompted medical personnel to authorize his release from the hospital.

Marika Lizi tweeted: “Thank God Jeremy is finally recovering at home with his family, which is fantastic news considering his injuries. I wish Jeremy a full recovery with all the love in my heart. He is a true superhero.”

Renner, 42, was plowing his driveway on New Year’s Day so family members could leave his residence. Renner reportedly stepped out of the snowcat to speak with a relative, and when he attempted to reenter the vehicle, it rolled onto him.

Washoe County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Darin Balaam noted that the snowcat weighed at least 14,330 pounds, per a report in People.

Police have ruled the incident an accident but are investigating why standard safety features on the snowcat failed.
