Democrat Exodus From Congress Accelerates – Hours Before Biden Speech, Deutch Becomes the 31st Liberal To Bail

Sharing is caring!

It’s one of the biggest issues the Democrat Party faces in 2022: somehow managing to maintain their majority grip on the House and Senate after the midterm elections are complete.

Many lawmakers have been predicting a “red wave” for months, and most polling and surveys indicate a nationwide shift to the right. And the Biden administration’s approval ratings continue to flounder.

Now, there’s yet another reason for leftist politicians to worry.

In addition to the apparent shifting tides in voting trends, there are reportedly a high number of Democrats who plan to retire this year. Many others are moving to different positions.

This has a direct impact on the House and Senate, because it leaves seats up for grabs — and Republicans only need a net gain of 5 seats to flip the House.

With every new announcement of a retiring official, Democrats become even more vulnerable (potentially). This is why experts say House Speaker Nancy Pelosi should be concerned.

So far, 30 leftist lawmakers have revealed they’re leaving Congress, which presents multiple opportunities for the GOP.

And today, we learn that the 31st Democratic Congressman is stepping down in the fall, which opens the door for an even bigger “red wave” than initially expected.

Via The Daily Wire:

Florida Democratic Congressman Ted Deutch on Monday announced he will be stepping down from Congress in the fall, becoming the 31st Congressional Democrat to do so ahead of the 2022 midterm elections.

Deutch was first elected in 2010 via special election, and now he’s moving on to serve on the board of the American Jewish Committee.

The Committee is the “leading global Jewish advocacy organization” according to CBS 4 Miami reporter Jim DeFede.

Deutch has been a Democrat ally for years, and has often backed leftist ideologies and policies.

For example, he sponsored legislation that would’ve banned “assault weapons,” though the proposal didn’t fly in his Florida district.

Deutch said in his statement:

After serving the public for more than 15 years, I have decided I will not seek re-election this November.

Public service was instilled in me by my father who earned a Purple Heart in the Battle of the Bulge, and it has been a tremendous privilege to serve the people of Palm Beach and Broward Counties in Congress since 2010.

I am incredibly grateful to my constituents for their support and friendship.

With the 31st Democrat to leave Congress in 2022, Republican hopes to flip the House (and maybe the Senate) have risen.

And even though another Democrat is expected to take Deutch’s place, the trend of leftist politicos leaving Washington continues.

The only question now is what sort of impact the Russia/Ukraine war will have on any upcoming elections.

If voters don’t believe the current administration does well with the situation, they’ll likely turn on the Party in power: Democrats.
