Ron DeSantis Fires Back At AOC: “If I had a dollar for every lockdown politician who decided to escape to Florida over the last two years, I’d be a pretty doggone wealthy man”
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis fired back at Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez today after the New York Congresswoman claimed DeSantis was “inexplicably missing.” AOC took the cheap shot at the Florida Governor who was with his wife getting cancer treatments while she was vacationing in Miami.
DeSantis said: “If I had a dollar for every lockdown politician who decided to escape to Florida over the last two years, I’d be a pretty doggone wealthy man. Let me tell you. I mean Congresspeople, Mayors, Governors.
“It’s interesting though the reception that some of these folks get in Florida because a lot of Floridians are saying wait a minute, you’re bashing us because we aren’t doing your draconian policies yet we are the first place you flee to to be able to enjoy life.”
AOC said: “Hasn’t Gov. DeSantis been inexplicably missing for like 2 weeks? If he’s around, I would be happy to say hello. His social media team seems to have been posting old photos for weeks.
“In the meantime, perhaps I could help with local organizing. Folks are quite receptive here.

Democratic Mayor Jerry Demings of Orange County in Florida also went after DeSantis saying:
“Our residents, all Florida residents should be outraged, and they should ask the question, ‘Now, where’s our state? Where’s our governor? Where is Ron DeSantis now? When was the last time you saw the governor do a press briefing regarding COVID-19?”
Soon after AOC went after Ron, a DeSantis spokesperson told Fox News the Governor was with his wife getting cancer treatment. Fox reported:
“Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis accompanied his wife to her cancer treatment while critics were accusing the governor of taking a vacation as coronavirus cases spiked, Fox News has learned.
“A DeSantis spokesperson said the governor accompanied wife Casey to cancer treatment Dec. 29, the day several left-wing critics accused the governor of “missing.”
