Nancy Pelosi Runs Into Double Washington Roadblocks – The CBO And 5 Democrats Could Stop Her Spending Bill In Its Tracks

Sharing is caring!

Democrats are still determined to pass Joe Biden’s bloated, socialist spending bill. Despite major roadblocks, Pelosi was hoping to get a vote through this week. But the fate of this bill is being jeopardized in many ways, not just thanks to Sen. Manchin’s objections.

In fact, the CBO just gave the left some pretty bad news. From the New York Times:

But the director of the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office said on Monday that the I.R.S. proposal would yield far less than what the White House was counting on to help pay for its bill — about $120 billion over a decade versus the $400 billion that the administration is counting on.

Worse than that, a handful of Democrats are ready to block it themselves. From Fox News:

Five moderate Democrats are going to be key to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s effort to push through President Biden’s massive reconciliation spending plan before Thanksgiving…

Reps. Stephanie Murphy, D-Fla., Ed Case, D-Hawaii, Josh Gottheimer, D-N.J., Kathleen Rice, D-N.Y., and Kurt Schrader, D-Ore., all refused to vote for the bill earlier this month when progressives and Pelosi wanted to advance it along with the bipartisan infrastructure bill.

Five moderate Democrats in the House have vowed not to vote for Pelosi’s spending bill. Progressives have tried to force the issue, but these Democrats refuse to commit, depending on the numbers from the CBO. But there is more bad news on that front.

Word is, the CBO won’t have their report ready until this Friday, giving Democrats very little time to get a vote through. On top of that, the word is the CBO is finding that Biden’s massive spending bill won’t be affordable. In fact, even with increased taxes, heavy regulation, and other “gimmicks,” the IRS will only have a fraction of the money Biden needs.

That contradicts what many Democrats have been claiming. Biden, Pelosi, and others have claimed the bill would cost “zero.” They wanted us to believe that all their spending voodoo was enough to cover this massive, $1.75 trillion spending bill. That’s not what the CBO is saying.

What Biden wants to do is push many new socialist programs. His bill will put millions of Americans on some form of welfare. And that’s not even getting into the many changes this bill would bring to our economy, major industries, and way of life. All that would come at a cost, one that we cannot afford.

This year, Biden has already done tremendous damage to our economy. We are struggling to recover, yet he wants to do even more damage. But there is a chance that even members of his own party will turn against him.
