Kyle Rittenhouse Breaks Down In Tears On Stand As Judge Calls Recess

Kyle Rittenhouse took the stand in his trial today with many experts questioning the move as they thought Kyle already won when the prosecution’s case imploded. Kyle eventually broke down as he recounted how the events unfolded in the moments before he fired his weapon.

Rittenhouse said a man named Joshua Ziminski “steps toward me with a pistol in his hand. And as I’m, as I’m walking towards to put out the fire, I drop the fire extinguisher and I, I take a step back.”

When asked his plan after stepping back, Rittenhouse said: “My plan is to get out of that situation and go back to where the Car Source lot #2 was.” The Defense attorney asked if he was able to get back?

“I wasn’t, once I take that step back I look over my shoulder and Mr. Rosenbaum, Mr. Rosebaum was now running from my right side and I was cornered from in front of me with Mr. Ziminski and there were there were three people right there,” he said with tears streaming down his face.

“That’s when I run…” twThe judge then called for a 10-minute break.

The state called 22 witnesses over six days but yesterday’s star witness helped not hurt Kyle.

Gaige Grosskreutz took the stand and changed the case in most legal experts’ opinions. Grosskreutz parents filed a $10 million negligence claim against the city of Kenosha and Kenosha County. After what he admitted to yesterday, he stands little chance of winning that.

The defense lawyer asked him: “It wasn’t until you pointed your gun at him, advanced on him, with your gun – now your hand’s down, pointed at him – that he fired, right?” To which the prosecution’s witness replied: “Correct.”

After the prosecution rested, Judge Bruce Schroeder granted a defense motion to dismiss a curfew citation charge against Rittenhouse. Defense attorneys said prosecutors failed to present any evidence to support the charge.
