“I’m in,” Andrew Giuliani told Fox News today formally announcing his bid to take on disgraced New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. “New York deserves a leader who will fight to make it the greatest state in America once again,” Giuliani said.
“If New Yorkers choose to elect me Governor, I will bring New York back from the precipice of ruin to the shining state on the hill once again. I think it will be the fight of the century. I’m a politician out of the womb. It’s in my DNA,” Giuliani said.
“Giuliani vs. Cuomo. Holy smokes. It’s Muhammad Ali vs. Joe Frazier. We can sell tickets at Madison Square Garden,” he added.
“It would be one of the epic showdowns in the state’s history,” said Giuliani. “I know we can defeat Andrew Cuomo in 2022. I am going to be the 57th governor of New York.”
Giuliani then took a swipe at the failed Cuomo who made $5 million from a book that sold only 45,000 copies.
“It was Andrew Cuomo’s actions that killed 9,000 senior citizens in nursing homes in New York. He should have resigned,” Giuliani said.
“Cuomo didn’t use the USS Comfort ship or the Javits Center to house seniors with COVID. He didn’t want to give President Trump a political victory.”
“I believe we have the best chance to win if I’m the Republican candidate in November. It’s not even close,” he said before adding:
“You’re going to have more enthusiasm in the race.
“I am not going to run away from who I am and what I’ve done. I worked for four years in the Trump White House.
“Record low unemployment. The Trump White House was excellent in getting Americans to work and into successful careers. I will do that for New York.”
“I’m proud of our 25-year friendship. I’m certainly proud of all of the accomplishments we were able to accomplish together in the Trump White House,” said. “So I will never run away from that.”
“So whether New Yorkers want to call me a Trump candidate, or a Giuliani candidate, all I can tell you is I am Andrew Giuliani,” he said. “And Donald Trump is certainly part of what made Andrew Giuliani, and so is Rudy Giuliani and Donna Hanover.”
