Buttigieg Ordered To Get Working Or Resign – Transportation Secretary Has Been On Paid Leave For Months During Supply Issues
Millions of Americans have been suffering due to a prolonged supply chain shortage. Ships full of goods cannot unload, due to constrictions in ports, rail lines, and truck companies. The person picked by Biden to deal with this crisis is former presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg. But where is he?

As cargo ships congested at U.S. ports, creating an unprecedented supply-chain crisis, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg was on paid leave to spend time with his husband, Chasten, and their two newborn babies.
Really? He was getting paid leave while the nation faced a serious crisis? Now, lawmakers are out for blood.

“We’re in the middle of a transportation crisis, and Pete Buttigieg is sitting at home. Meanwhile, cargo boats are unable to dock and shelves are sitting empty. Pete needs to either get back to work or leave the Department of Transportation. It’s time to put American families first.”
Sen. Marsha Blackburn blasted Buttigieg for staying home while the nation struggled with a major supply chain crisis. It seems the Democrat tried to get out of his responsibilities by claiming he was on “paternity leave” with the arrival of his twins.
Ah, how sweet. A man gets to stay home with his babies as millions of other families can’t feed their kids.
Doesn’t Buttigieg have a phone? A laptop? Why wasn’t he hold Zoom calls for at least an hour a day, considering this crisis? I find it hard to believe that Buttigieg couldn’t lead during this problem, considering newborns sleep most of the day.
We’ve seen new mothers and fathers manage to deal with their jobs even after welcoming children. Even right now, many new mothers are taking care of business, while still tending to newborns. Why is Buttigieg sitting at home doing nothing?
Of course, anyone who criticizes him will be hung out to dry for criticizing someone on paternity leave. But, as Kayleigh McEnany explained, anyone who works for the President has a time clock on their job. That’s why, when she had a baby as Press Secretary, she only took a few weeks off.
You would think when your department is at the center of a national crisis, you would reconsider your plans.
His department claims he’s been “ramping up” his work since the first few weeks of his leave. Really? Then why are their ships stuck in the California bay? Why are we being told families might not be able to celebrate Christmas this year? Why are small businesses and grocery stores struggle to stock their shelves?
Maybe Biden should take Blackburn’s advice and find a new head of DOT?
