Texas Democrats Defeated In Election Standoff – Governor Abbott Just Signed Into Law His Election Integrity Bill
You probably remember the stunt Texas Democrats pulled to block Gov. Abbott’s agenda.
Democrats in the state legislature didn’t have enough votes to block a major bill.
So, they fled the state, holding up in D.C. for over a month. They pretended like they were heroes, but the folks back home weren’t impressed.
Eventually, they returned to Texas, tails between their legs.
The state’s legislature quickly passed the needed bill. And now, Abbott is having the last laugh.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott signed the state’s controversial election integrity bill Tuesday after a months-long battle with Democrats opposed to the legislation.
“Senate Bill 1 will solidify trust and confidence in the outcome of our elections by making it easier to vote and harder to cheat. I look forward to signing Senate Bill 1 into law, ensuring election integrity in Texas,” Abbott said in a statement.
After all their bellyaching and obstruction, Democrats will watch as Abbott signs this election integrity bill into law.
The bill, as Abbott puts it, will make it “easier to vote and harder to cheat.” The bill prohibits 24-hour voting and drive-thru voting—two schemes Democrats were trying to pull.
It also requires voter ID when requesting and submitting a mail-in ballot. Mail-in ballots are only provided when requested in TX and only for those physically incapable of voting in person.
The bill also takes other steps to prevent possible shenanigans and “irregularities” that would call the state’s elections into doubt.
Numerous states passed new legislation this year after the train wreck that was the 2020 Election. Most of these bills were aimed at preventing mass mail-in ballots, ballot harvesting, and other practices that erode the integrity of our democracy.
Of course, Democrats oppose every single one of these bills.
Why are Democrats so determined to block bills that simply safeguard our elections?
They have not been able to prove that any of them prevent citizens from voting.
Yet some Democrats fled the state of Texas, just to upset the passage of this bill (and failed).
Seems pretty odd that they are so dead set on opposing election integrity, huh?
