Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush Sues Joe Biden For ‘Illegally Halting Construction’ of Border Wall
Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush just announced a lawsuit against the Biden administration over its decision to end construction of the border wall. This is just one in a series of moves the state of Texas has done to push back on Joe and Kamala’s plans to deal with the border crisis.
“The issue here is simple – no man is above the law, and that includes President Biden,” Bush said. “Now, four years after the first funding was signed into law, President Biden has announced that he will simply no longer follow the law and illegally halted all construction to build the wall,” he said. “This is wrong. This is illegal. And this will not hold up in court.”
Bush’s lawsuit comes after Gov. Greg Abbott said Texas will go ahead with its own efforts to build a wall overruling Joe and Kamala. Abbott said he would put $250 million down payment on the project.
“Make no mistake, the border crisis that we’re dealing with right now is a direct result of the open border policies that have been put in place by the Biden administration,” Abbott said.
From The Texas Tribune:
The complaint by Bush, filed in U.S. District Court in McAllen on Tuesday, argues that between 2018 and 2021, Congress approved $5 billion for the construction of barriers along the U.S.-Mexico border and Biden had no legal right to halt construction on the project.
On Inauguration Day, Biden issued an executive order calling the border wall a “waste of money” and saying that it was “not a serious policy solution.”
The complaint asks federal judge Ricardo H. Hinojosa to rule Biden’s order illegal and to stop Mayorkas from diverting the funds earmarked for the wall to other uses.
“This lawsuit is not about whether border walls are effective. It is about whether a President may unilaterally override these duly enacted appropriations bills to fulfill a campaign promise,” the lawsuit says.
The Department of Homeland Security didn’t immediately respond to an emailed request for comment.

The left’s out of control policies are eroding the fabric of our nation. It was great to see Pres. Trump today & discuss how we must come together as a party to restore America First Priorities. I appreciate his friendship & kind words as we work together to Keep America Great. pic.twitter.com/pEMuCUOCBi
