Gov. Noem Just Threw July 4th Accusation At Biden – She Claims Joe Violated Federal Law When He Refused Fireworks Permit
It seems Democrats have a problem with fireworks at one of the country’s most historic locations. President Barack Obama canceled fireworks at Mt. Rushmore, citing environmental concerns.
And after Donald Trump allowed them to come back, current POTUS Joe Biden took them away again. However, this time, South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem is fighting back.
That’s because she believes Biden violated federal law.
Gov. Noem has been fighting for the Mt. Rushmore fireworks for months, but the federal government refuses to give her the permits. Noem hasn’t taken it lying down, however.
This week, she went on “Fox & Friends and said Obama had pulled the fireworks display for environmental reasons.
Then when Trump got into office, Noem said she had a conversation with him and asked if he’d help her. Donald had replied simply, “I’ll do it.” And that was a big victory for South Dakota residents.
But now the fireworks are gone again, and the Governor claims Biden has overstepped.
Here’s part of her statements, via Breitbart:
Now, there is a federal law — because I’ve sued them over this — there’s a federal law called the Administrative Procedures Act, which says that they have to give us a real reason for why they denied us the opportunity to be there and to celebrate.
Some people assume it’s once again for environmental reasons. But Gov. Noem was clear on this:
She says the state met all the environmental concerns, and also met with the fire danger protocols. They consulted with local, state and federal officials, and they even talked with the tribes.
In other words, it appears South Dakota has taken all the necessary steps to make this celebration happen.
But the Biden administration simply won’t allow it, and they apparently haven’t provided Noem with a reason. As she says, this would violate the Administrative Procedures Act.
The Governor said having the fireworks at Mt. Rushmore last year was “fantastic:”
In the middle of a pandemic at Mount Rushmore on July 3, the country unified.
We saw riots and violence happening in every other state, and South Dakota stepped up and hosted a celebration of people that love this country and were peacefully gathering to recognize how unique this country is, so we want to do that every year.
Noem believes the fireworks were taken away purely for “political reasons.”
This isn’t the first time a state leader or politician has accused the Biden administration of making moves only for political reasons. They claim many policies are based on liberal agenda policies and not on facts and figures.
They might have a point in this case.
If Noem is correct and Biden hasn’t issued any reason for refusing the fireworks permit, people are going to assume it’s political.
But it’s clear that the South Dakota Governor isn’t going to stop fighting — she demands answers.
Key Takeaways:
- South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem claims President Joe Biden violated a federal law.
- In refusing to let the Mt. Rushmore fireworks happen, Noem says he didn’t provide the state with a reason.
- Noem believes the decision was “purely political.”
