7 States Send Trump Electors Forward To ‘Preserve Legal Rights: PA, GA, MI, WI, AZ NV, and New Mexico
GOP electors in seven states have now sent Trump electors forward at the same time as the states officially gave their EC votes to Joe Biden.
The 7 states did this to preserve Trump’s longshot legal challenges.
“We took this procedural vote to preserve any legal claims that may be presented going forward,” Trump campaign Pennsylvania chair Bernie Comfort said in a statement. “This was in no way an effort to usurp or contest the will of the Pennsylvania voters.”
A GOP elector from a different state explained: “In order to preserve our legal rights, we must elect a slate of presidential electors.”
Key Trump adviser Stephen Miller said on Fox News today:
“The only date in the constitution is Jan 20, so we have more than enough time to right the wrong of this fraudulent election result and certify Donald Trump as the winner of the election.”
“As we speak today, an alternate slate of electors in the contested states are going to vote and we’re going to send those results up to congress.”
“This will ensure that all of our legal remedies will remain open.”
“That means that if we win these cases in the courts, that we can direct that the alternate slate of electors will be certified,” Miller said.
