Laura Ingraham Undergoes Surgery After Ski Accident, Says She’ll Miss Show As She Recovers
A Fox News program host announced Wednesday she will miss the next few days while recovering from a skiing accident.
Laura Ingraham, host of “The Ingraham Angle,” informed her viewers she wiped out while skiing at a Colorado resort the previous weekend. She posted a video clip to Instagram explaining how she became injured.
Ingraham described how she decided to take her two boys skiing in Colorado the previous weekend, adding everything went fine. She noted she did not wipe out once until her sons baited her into racing them, that is.
“Nico says — he’s 12 — he says, ‘Mommy, Dmitri and I bet that one of us could beat you down the mountain,’” Ingraham recounted with a smile, adding, “I took off after my 14-year-old and, suffice it to say, it was all downhill from there.”
The Fox host said she heard a snap about one-quarter mile from the bottom of the Aspen Highlands mountain they were skiing
“I immediately knew it was my ACL because I had done my other knee at the same resort 20 years ago,” Ingraham wryly noted.
She reverted to her upbeat attitude.
“I’m going to try to be back early next week,” she said as the video neared its end. “It’s going to be rough but I have a lot of friends in rehab here.”
Ingraham quickly corrected herself, saying with a laugh it was not that kind of rehab. She meant physical therapy (“PT”).
After her operation, she posted a photo of her sitting on the couch with her bandaged leg while her dog snuggles against the thigh of her injured leg.
“Post-op recovery always better with dogs!” she remarked in her Twitter post. “Thanks for all the well wishes and to my phenomenal surgeons. Blessed!”
