GOP Challenger Makes Move After Ilhan Omar Gets Booed In Minneapolis: “I am not shocked that they booed her, hey recognize that she does not represent them, and they are ready for change
Republican Cecily Davis, a challenger to Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn, took advantage of a critical mistake made by the Dem Rep who got booed and heckled in Minneapolis over the weekend. Appearing on “Fox & Friends First,” Davis said she was not shocked the hometown crowd booed Omar as her policies are unpopular.
Davis said: “Her policies are very unpopular to those in her own community. I am not shocked that they booed her. She’s very unpopular among the people of Somalia and Minneapolis. You know what?
“They’ve decided that they are no longer going to operate as a monolith. They recognize that she does not represent them, and they are ready for change.
“They are looking for a champion who actually represents their conservative values here in congressional district five,” she said.
According to The New York Post:
Video from Saturday night’s event featuring Somali singer Suldaan Seeraar showed Omar (D-Minn.), the first Somali American elected to Congress, walk onto the stage with her husband, Tim Mynett.
The crowd at the Target Center promptly unleashed a torrent of boos that lasted for more than a minute.
Others in the mostly Somali audience shouted “Get out” and some yelled “Get the f–k out of here.”
Omar, a member of the progressive “Squad” that includes Bronx and Queens Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), tried to calm the unruly gathering.
“OK, OK, OK, OK, OK, we don’t have all night,” Omar said as she made a “tamp it down” gesture with her hands, the video shows.
Congresswoman Ilhan Omar was booed last night by thousands of the Minneapolis Somali community last night at a Somalia Independence Day celebration concert.

It was a pleasure to join @AshleyStrohmier and @GriffJenkins on @FoxFriendsFirst early this morning. I explained how my district is waking up to realize that Ilhan Omar only represents herself and that change is coming in November. https://t.co/UCdTUkuUlZ
