It has already been criticized as a politically-motivated ruling, a New York judge claimed Mar-a-Lago was only worth $18 million. Critics have pointed out that houses much smaller than the resort in the same area are worth $18-$20 million.

Eric Trump ridiculed the ruling, claiming that Mar-a-Lago is worth “over a billion dollars.” Trump had valued it at around $400 million, which might be an undervalue–far from what the judge has said.
New York Democrats have launched a variety of cases aimed at shutting down the Trump empire. Many Americans have accused these Democrats of trying to ruin the man because of his politics. Legal experts have even questioned the legality of some of these cases, in which prosecutors elevated minor offenses into felony charges.
