McCarthy Unloads His Clear 2024 Prediction – He Rocks D.C. by Mentioning Only 2 Names
All eyes have been on House Speaker McCarthy after he announced an impeachment probe against Joe Biden. The Republican leader of the House has faced plenty of criticism from within his own party since taking up the gavel. Some hardliners within the GOP have accused McCarthy of not going hard enough on Joe Biden. Others have even suggested he was something of a RINO, more of an ally to Democrats than his own party.
Last weekend, McCarthy spoke about the state of the Republican presidential primary. Should McCarthy retain the gavel after 2024, he would be working closely with the White House–if a Republican is elected. He was asked what he thought about the current lineup of presidential hopefuls. And he put away all doubts as to his loyalties.

House Speaker McCarthy revealed his belief that Donald Trump would win the GOP primaries. He said that the former president is “stronger today” than he was in 2016 or even 2020. McCarthy pointed to Trump’s policies that he said put “America first, making our economy stronger.”
Bartiromo asked about Ron DeSantis, whom she said was working with hardliner House Republicans to shut down the government. McCarthy was critical of DeSantis. He repeated claims put forward by Trump that DeSantis would not have been elected governor, without Trump’s endorsement.
McCarthy is strongly opposed to Republican attempts at forcing a government shutdown. It appears he fears how that will blow back against GOP lawmakers. And, as some have suggested, a shutdown could derail investigations into Joe Biden.
It seems obvious why McCarthy is speaking harshly about DeSantis. If the governor wants the federal government shut down, he has become an enemy of the Speaker. McCarthy has no reason to endorse a man who is jeopardizing his leadership within the House.
McCarthy accused DeSantis of not being “at the same level” as former President Trump. I guess we’ll find out if voters agree with him.
