After Senate Rejects Top Biden Nominee – Joe Gets Caught Secretly Giving Him Another Big Job
The Biden administration has struggled to confirm several of its cabinet picks. A few of the candidates chosen by Biden have faced backlash and criticism from both Republicans and Democrats in the Senate. Some of these figures have quickly withdrawn their names to avoid the shame of a failed vote.
One of those candidates was Jeff Marootian. Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee Chairman Joe Manchin was critical of Marootian because of his involvement in Biden’s attempts to ban gas stoves. But moments after Marootian pulled his name, his boss Jennifer Granholm quietly promoted him, anyway.
From Fox News:
The DOE announced last week that Jeff Marootian was appointed to be the principal deputy assistant secretary of the agency’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE). The appointment came days after the White House withdrew his name from consideration to lead EERE as the office’s assistant secretary…
President Biden has yet to nominate another person to be Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, meaning Marootian, whose new position doesn’t require Senate confirmation, is the most senior official in the EERE office.
After being unable to gain confirmation from the Senate, the Biden administration appointed Marootian to a leading post. He is now the deputy assistant secretary of the EERE. Because Biden has yet to pick someone to be the assistant secretary (a post over the deputy assistant), Marootian has become the leader of this agency–without approval from the Senate.
This appears consistent with other measures by this administration to side-step congressional approval. Biden’s “student loan forgiveness” plan (which was nullified by federal courts) was another attempt by the president to reject the Constitution’s requirement to work with Congress.
Marootian was criticized by the Senate because of his support for Biden’s anti-natural gas scheme. Joe’s Department of Energy has come under condemnation by consumers and numerous figures, after it began a scheme to ban gas stoves and other applications.
The DOE appears to be pushing a plan to force Americans to buy electric appliances only, which experts claim would put an unnecessary and massive burden on the U.S.’s energy grid.
Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee Ranking Member John Barrasso warned Americans, saying that Marootian is now “an unelected, unaccountable, and unconfirmed bureaucrat who is carrying out President Biden’s orders to attack affordable household appliances.”
Because Marootian was promoted to his post, he was not vetted or approved by the Senate. To whom he answers is anyone’s guess. Many will probably worry that he will carry out Biden’s plan to ban gas stoves and other products, putting a burden on American families.
