Blue State Suffers Constitutional Loss – Court Strikes Down Appeal, Keeps Restraining Order for 2A Illinois Law

Americans were shocked recently when Illinois–which is becoming increasingly left-wing–passed a law massive gun control law. The law, backed by Democrat Gov. Pritzker, banned some of the most common and popular firearms in America.
The backlash to this law was fierce. Over 70 sheriffs in the state vowed not to obey it, making it essentially powerless in those counties. The governor and his leftist supporters pushed back. The law was taken to the courts, where a lower court issued a restraining order. Of course, Democrats appealed.

After an appeal from Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul, Illinois’ Fifth District appellate court ruled on Tuesday in a 2-to-1 decision that the temporary restraining order can stay in place, and also extends it statewide. Previously, the temporary restraining order only applied to the plaintiffs.
Wow. Not only did Democrats lose their appeal, but the court decided to make the restraining order statewide! This means they lost twice. The case is still being decided, but this ruling, for now, means that the law isn’t being enforced.
Americans sued the state over the law, stating that it violated state law and the U.S. Constitution. They claim the law was passed improperly and didn’t have proper public input. Democrats often do this when trying to quickly pass unpopular laws.
They rush it through the system, hoping nobody will find out until a bill is passed. Had they bothered to let American citizens offer their opinions, the bill could have died. But Democrats seemed to avoid this process, to pass a law that strips away American rights.
The final verdict has yet to be decided. There is a good chance this law will be knocked down. But it won’t be the end of the left’s attempts at destroying our right to bear arms. Democrats in Illinois, and around the country, will find new ways of destroying this constitutional right.
