Hollywood Caves On Will Smith, Hands Disgraced Star Two New Gigs, A Show On Disney And Movie With Sony
Hollywood caved and handed disgraced movie star Will Smith two new gigs less than one year after Smith shocked the world and slapped comedian Chris Rock. Smith’s tearful confession did nothing for an outraged public but Hollywood has let him back in its good graces.
Will Smith is slated to star in and executive produce a new travel series for Disney Plus titled Pole to Pole. National Geographic announced that the show will be a part of the Disney+ streaming service and will follow Smith and a film crew as they make a 26,000-mile trek from the South Pole to the North Pole.
Filming will last for more than 100 days according to the reports. And Sony hired Smith to bring back his role in the Bad Boys film franchise alongside Martin Lawrence. Bad Boys 3, ‘Bad Boys For Life,’ brought in $426 million worldwide.
According to The Independent:
Will Smith is teaming up again with Martin Lawrence for a fourth Bad Boys film, it has been announced.
In a clip shared to Instagram on Tuesday (31 January) afternoon, an excitable Smith told his fans to “stop scrolling” as he had news to be shared.
Smith filmed himself driving in his car, with his camera in one hand, while the destination was bleeped out.
“I wish I was y’all, not knowing what I’m about to show you,” he said.
Smith then pulled in, telling the camera: “We here. We go.” After knocking on the door, it was opened to reveal his Bad Boys co-star Martin Lawrence. Smith yelled his name, while the actors repeated that it was “about that time”.
National Geographic says of Smith’s show: “It might seem humans have mapped every inch of our planet’s surface, but look closer and you’ll discover that there is still so much more to uncover — the age of exploration is far from over!
‘Welcome to Earth,’ a Disney+ original series from National Geographic, follows two-time Academy Award® nominee Will Smith on an extraordinary, once-in-a-lifetime adventure around the world to explore Earth’s greatest wonders and reveal its most hidden secrets.
Will is guided by elite explorers on an awe-inspiring journey, getting up close and personal with some of the most thrilling spectacles on the planet — from volcanoes that roar in silence to deserts that move beyond our perception to animal swarms with minds of their own.
