After RINO Votes to Impeach President Trump – GOP Primary Voters Give Him the Boot And Donald Responds

Sharing is caring!

Last year, a number of House Republicans broke from the party to help Democrats impeach Trump.

Very soon afterward, the folks back home expressed their outrage. But these RINOs refused to apologize. Many of them continue to attack Trump.

Well, it seems one of these anti-Trump Republicans just faced the music. From Politico:

GOP Rep. Tom Rice lost in his Republican primary against Trump-backed state Rep. Russell Fry in South Carolina on Tuesday, as the former president rallied voters against one of the few House Republicans who voted to impeach him last year.

And Donald Trump responded to the news. From TRUTH Social:

The biggest News of the evening so far is that Russell Fry beat Impeach Master Tom Rice with a Vote of more than 51%, therefore WINNING OUTRIGHT with no need for a run-off. Rice only got 24%. Congratulations to Russell on running a great campaign!

Forty-five went on to make this big announcement for a big primary night. From TRUTH Social:

Every single endorsed by Trump candidate won last night, by big margins, with the exception of one very long shot who did FAR better than anticipated against an incumbent. The “Impeacher” was ousted without even a runoff. A GREAT night!

Tom Rice, a Republican that voted to impeach Trump in 2021, lost his primary race to Russel Fry. Fry enjoyed an endorsement by Donald Trump.

The 45th president celebrated the news, stating that Fry won by more than 51%, avoiding a run-off.

It seems Rice had lost the respect and support of South Carolina voters, as he only earned 24% of the votes.

There seems to be a lesson here. Republicans who turn on Trump might have lost the support of the GOP.

Trump went on to state that every candidate he endorsed won their primary races this week, with the exception of just one (who ran against a strong incumbent).

This appears to confirm a long-standing trend. Trump-backed candidates have done much better in this year’s primaries.

Which suggests GOP voters still highly value the 45th president’s endorsement.

Key Takeaways:

  • A Republican who voted to impeach Trump lost his primary race.
  • Trump celebrated the news, stating his candidate won 51% of the vote.
  • All but one of Trump’s endorsements won their primaries this week.
