Kellyanne Conway Goes On The View, Shuts Down Co-Host: “If you’re saying that somehow you think we’re supposed to think that you’ve seen the light and not your name in lights that’s not fair
Kellyanne Conway went on The View to promote her new book, ‘Here’s the Deal,’ and shut down the hosts of the ABC show. Conway and former Trump official Alyssa Farah Griffin had a heated back and forth.
Griffin worked for Vice President Mike Pence and had other roles in Trump’s White House but is now part of a rotating cast of guest hosts for The View as they look for a permanent conservative co-host.
“I broke with the president ahead of Jan. 6 when the ‘big lie’ started being shared. I resigned in Dec. 4 and I spoke out after Jan. 6 when I saw a violent mob assault the Capitol.”
Conway fired back, “Is there a question in there?”
“Yes,” said Griffin. “How do you still defend him? Do you still think he could be a good president after he tried to overturn our democracy?”
“I left three months before you did, for my children, I have four of them. I said less drama more mama,” Conway said.
“And that’s exactly what I did. I think you stayed a whole month after the election that you were having a problem with.”
.@KellyannePolls to #TheView on her daughter speaking out publicly on social media: "What I don't appreciate and will never forgive or forget are a bunch of adults direct messaging my 15-year-old daughter without even trying to reach easy-to-reach parents. It is outrageous." pic.twitter.com/YSa51jIzYy

“I wanted to help my junior staff get jobs,” said Griffin. “I stayed for three weeks after…”
Conway shut her down:
“I think people should know that because I haven’t seen you since you changed. But I want to say this to you.”
Griffin interrupted, “Just to be clear, I didn’t change. I swore an oath to the Constitution.”
“I don’t want to argue,” said Conway. “You get to talk here every day.”
“I swore an oath to the Constitution, not to Donald Trump,” Griffin said.
“As we all did,” said Conway.
“Alyssa, if you’re saying that somehow you think we’re supposed to think that you’ve seen the light and not your name in lights that’s not fair,” said Conway to devastating effect.
“That’s such a cheap shot,” Griffin whined.
The crowd tried to boo Kellyanne at one point but Whoppi Goldberg stepped in and scolded them.
According to The Daily Beast:
“I write extensively in this book, that I’m the closest person to Donald Trump to tell him, the earliest, that he came up short. It broke my heart. I wanted him to get re-elected,” she exclaimed. “He should have won huge. He had all these accomplishments, he’s running against a guy stuck in the basement, and you’re in the middle of the pandemic.”
At this point, the studio audience began booing Conway, prompting host Whoopi Goldberg to jump in and chastise her own home crowd.
“Let me do something before you say anything else,” the show’s moderator declared. “Listen, this is The View, and this is her view and she’s talking about how she feels and what she knows, please don’t boo her!”
Conway, for her part, snarked that the crowd was likely booing her for saying President Joe Biden was “staying in the basement.”
.@KellyannePolls to #TheView on if she thinks former Pres. Trump will run again in 2024: "He would like to run in 2024 because he thinks there's unfinished business."
