Trump Has Great Primary Night, Gets Clean Sweep As All 22 Trump-Backed Candidates Win In Ohio And Indiana
Former President Donald Trump had a great night last night as all the candidates he backed in key GOP primaries won. Trump’s critics were hoping his candidates would suffer steep losses to embarrass him but that did not happen.
Trump’s endorsement in the hotly cint4ested Ohio Seate primary proved decisive as JD Vance pulled out a close race. Trump’s spokesman Taylor Budowich said:
“JD Vance put in tremendous work and has immense political talent, which put him in the position to earn the support of President Trump. But it was the endorsement of President Donald J. Trump that took a candidate who many insiders said was in 4th and at single digits in the polls, and in only two weeks, propelled him into a commanding first place finish.
“The power of President Trump’s endorsement is undeniable, his dominance over the Republican powerbrokers in D.C. cannot be overstated, and the promise of this MAGA Movement will not just define the Midterms, but it will win for years to come.”

In the March Texas primaries, his first true test of 2022, all of Trump’s chosen congressional and statewide candidates won their races with the exception of scandal-plagued state Attorney General Ken Paxton, who is in a runoff later this month.
In Tuesday’s Indiana and Ohio primaries, Trump once again ran the table: All 22 of his endorsed candidates won.
He threw his support behind almost every House GOP incumbent running for reelection — and a few hopefuls in open seat primaries — and his preferred candidate won in every case.
His pick in the the highest profile race of the day, the Ohio Senate GOP primary, also won the nomination largely due to Trump’s endorsement power.

Max Miller, a White House and campaign aide under former President Donald Trump, won the Republican primary in Ohio’s newly drawn 7th Congressional District on Tuesday, NBC News projects.
Just after 9 p.m. ET., Miller led the field with roughly 70 percent of the vote counted so far. He faced a trio of primary opponents, none of whom topped 15 percent of the vote.
Miller had initially won Trump’s backing when he opted to challenge Rep. Anthony Gonzalez, R-Ohio, in the state’s 16th District. Gonzalez, who backed the former president’s impeachment last year following the Capitol riot and his broad attempt to overthrow President Joe Biden’s victory, announced in September he would retire rather than seek reelection.
