Elon Musk Throws Down Gauntlet To Putin – He Challenges Vlad To Decide Ukraine By Single Combat
The world watches as Russia continues to ignore sanctions and rebukes and attacks Ukraine. The nation has been under siege for weeks now. World leaders have condemned the invasion, but little appears to be stopping Putin’s agenda (except for the tireless efforts of the people of Ukraine).
One person coming out to aid freedom fights has been Elon Musk.
The billionaire inventor has been providing Internet access to the nation via his SpaceX Starlink technology. He has also urged the U.S. and other nations to take bolder steps in opposing Russia. Now, it seems he’s going further to call out Putin. He’s challenged the Russian tyrant to single combat.
From Zero Hedge:
In a move we’re sure was not approved by Tesla’s Twitter sitter (or likely anyone else, for that matter), Musk – who’s been providing Ukraine with internet via SpaceX Starlink stations – took to Twitter Monday morning to challenge Vladimir Putin to a fight.
“I hereby challenge Владимир Путин to single combat,” Musk wrote, writing Vladimir Putin in Russian. “Stakes are Україна [Ukraine],” he wrote.
I hereby challenge

Владимир Путин
to single combat
Stakes are Україна
Elon Musk took to Twitter to challenge Vladimir Putin to “single combat” to decide the fate of Ukraine. Putin is a noted Judo black belt. He was also a KGB agent within the Soviet Union. It stands to reason the man can easily beat up a tech giant. Some users pointed out that Musk did once “throw the world champion sumo wrestler,” a move that hurt his back.
Is Musk serious about this challenge? Not likely. We know Putin would never risk his invasion plans on something so nonsensical. He is ignoring major sanctions and has the support of China. What Musk was most likely doing was calling out world leaders, who appear to be cowardly backing down at Putin’s threats.
Aside from sending aid in the form of cash or equipment, most Western nations appear to be sitting on the sidelines. Ukraine’s president has frequently called for aid, rebuking the UN and other “peace-keeping” organizations for practically doing nothing. There doesn’t seem to be a world leader willing to stand up to the power-hungry Putin. Yet a businessman who makes electric cars is willing to do so?
Perhaps Musk is trying to shame leaders into doing the right thing. If he’s willing to go toe-to-toe with Putin, surely the U.S. or other nations can do more. But he might have to take even greater steps, before punks like Biden actually step up.
Key Takeaways:
- Elon Musk challenged Putin to “single combat” for Ukraine.
- Russia continues its invasion of Ukraine, despite global backlash.
- World leaders have talked big, but done little to change the situation.
