REPORTER RELAYS TO PSAKI HEARTBREAKING COMMENTS FROM PEOPLE AT GAS STATIONS, ONE SAID ‘I’M STRESSED ABOUT IT DURING THE DAY, WILL I BE ABLE TO AFFORD GAS?’

Sharing is caring!

In a heartbreaking exchange at the daily press briefing today, a reporter relayed to press secretary Jen Psaki comments from people at gas stations.

Breaking911 shared a clip of the exchange where the reporter began, “I want to read to you if I could Jen, some comments from people we met at gas stations today.”

“One woman saying, ‘I just never imagined the cost of gas be this high.’ Another said, ‘It’s a huge stressor to my financial situation, a huge stressor. It’s kind of like something I’m stressed about during the day, will I be able to afford gas, how much money do I have?’” the reporter continued.

The reporter then asked, “What is the White House… what is the president’s message to Americans who are going to the gas station today and seeing prices so high?”

Psaki responded, “The president’s message is that we are going to do everything we can, everything he can to reduce the impact on the American people, including the price of gas at the tank.”

“What is also true, is that because of the actions of President Putin, because he invaded a sovereign country, that created instability in the markets, that is something the president talked about even before Russia and President Putin moved forward with their actions,” Psaki explained.

Psaki then insisted, “But we have already taken steps, the president has already taken steps. Historic release from the strategic oil reserve. One’s that done in a coordinated fashion.”

“And clearly we will continue to have conversations with large oil producers and suppliers around the world on how to mitigate the impact… and consider domestic options as well,” Psaki concluded.

It was reported today by gas price analyst Patrick De Hann “According to GasBuddy data, the US national average has JUST set a new all-time record: $4.104/gallon, eclipsing 2008’s record of $4.103/gal.”

“The higher prices this time will likely stay around far longer,” De Hann noted, ominously.
