When Trump was unceremoniously kicked off of major social networks, he vowed to come up with an alternative. There are a few other social apps that promise “free speech.” But the 45th president wanted something that would never silence him, nor anyone else. So, he said he would build his own social app.
The left laughed at him. They assumed nobody could produce a popular app outside of leftist Silicon Valley. More than that, it takes a tremendous amount of work to just generate interest in a new social network, given there are so many already out there.
But this week, Trump’s app was launched. And it was so popular, people have been forced to wait in line just to join. From The Washington Examiner:

By Tuesday morning, 1.5 billion people had viewed the app in the iPhone App Store, with nearly 400,000 people receiving notices they were placed on a waitlist upon trying to sign up…
“Due to massive demand, we have placed you on our waitlist,” TRUTH Social’s notification read. “We love you, and you’re not just another number to us.”
According to reports, Trump’s TRUTH Social app was wildly popular. It was downloaded 100,000s of times on the first day alone. Demand was so it, developers were forced to over 400,000 people on a waiting list before they can start using it.
While users might be frustrated that they can’t immediately join the app, this is good news. Demand is so high, that Trump and his team will be forced to expand their hosting abilities immediately. Rarely do apps have a smooth launch on day one. That’s to be expected.
But few apps generate such interest, in such a short amount of time. This tells us one thing: people are eager to connect to Trump, once more. Be they supporters or critics, people can’t wait to hear Trump’s unfiltered views. This time, he will have zero reasons to fear censorship or blacklisting.
More than that, people want to enjoy that same kind of freedom. We all know how liberal social apps have been silencing, censoring, or outright banning conservatives and Trump supporters. Millions have fled most social media because they are sick and tired of these “woke” censors. But with TRUTH Social, there is hope they can once again freely speak their mind.
Devin Nunes, CEO of the new venture, said the app will be “fully operational” come March. They might have to move that up a few weeks!
