Joe Manchin Warns Dems: “We are a center right country, we can’t go too far left”
Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) went on CNN and issued a warning to the far-left members in the Dem Party saying the Dems need to come together and pass what they can. He also reminded AOC and the rest of America is ‘a center, center-right country.’
He said: “I believe in President Biden. I still do and I will always because he’s a good person, he’s here for the right reason.
“He really is in government for the right reason. We just have to work together. We can’t go too far left.
“This is not a center-left or a left country, we are a center if anything, a little center-right country, and this means that’s being shown.
“And we ought to be able to recognize that,” he said of the dismal election day the Dems had Tuesday.
Manchin said he thinks Biden is a moderate but some in the Democratic party are “pushing him left, that’s not Joe Biden.”
Manchin said he is a “responsible West Virginia Democrat, fiscally responsible and socially compassionate.”
He then warned the Dems to “come together, realize what can and can’t be done,” before adding their plan to “force, basically, something that’s not going to happen to make people believe it will” is a dud.
Manchin also ripped the dysfunction in DC, “You want to know what’s wrong with the place? I go to work in a hostile working environment every day.”
“I don’t think it belongs in the bill,” he said of Pelosi adding four weeks of paid family and medical leave back into the social spending bill.
“Let’s get it done in regular order through the process,” he said.
