Arizona Sheriff Says Kamala Harris’ Not Right Person For Border Job: “It’s not a laughing matter”

Sharing is caring!

Vice President Kamala Harris has had a terrible first few months in office. This week has been particularly bad if you are one if her advisers. After botching an NBC interview – when is the last time a politician fell flat in an interview with a friendly press outlet – now she has to visit the border but not look weak doing it. In short, like Hillary, Kamala has an arrogance problem that is not going away.

After botching the NBC interview and hearing from AOC and others on the left as well as conservatives she will find no solace from law enforcement. An Arizona sheriff just called her out and said she is “not the right person for the job” of solving the border crisis.

Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb went on Fox News to make his case why Kamala is in over her head. “She keeps proving time and time again why she’s not the right person for the job,” Lamb said. “This isn’t an important issue for her,” he said.

“That’s why she’s not coming down. And we are left to only believe that this is exactly what they want. They want this chaos that is coming into this country.”

“That’s why they refuse to address it, and her in particular, he said.

“It’s not a laughing matter,” Lamb added. “Shame on her.”

Sen. Ted Cruz ripped Kamala as well. “It seemed like a hostage video she was just reading the words,” Ted said about Harris’ speech in Guatemala where she told migrants not to come north. “Everything that she has said, everything Joe Biden has said, and more importantly everything Joe and Kamala have done has sent exactly the opposite message,” Cruz added.

He continued: “We’ve seen in the 5 months they’ve been in office an absolute disaster unfolding at the border. In that entire interview what you don’t hear is any willingness to fix the problem. They can fix the problem tomorrow, and they can fix the problem by ending ‘catch and release’ and by reinstating the ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy.

“But they won’t. And so instead, she laughs it off and says ‘well, I haven’t been to Europe.’ Well, okay, you haven’t been to Europe, you haven’t been to Australia. But we don’t have an Australian border crisis, we don’t have a border crisis in Europe.

“Do you have any plans to visit the border?” asked NBC’s Holt in what the entire world thought was such a softball of a question that it would be impossible to flub. But Kamala flubbed it.

“I – at some point – you know – we are going to the border. We’ve been to the border,” Harris said. “So this whole – this whole – this whole thing about the border. We’ve been to the border. We’ve been to the border.”

Holt called her right out saying, “You haven’t been to the border.”

“I – and I haven’t been to Europe. And I mean, I don’t – I don’t understand the point that you’re making,” Harris said before adding “I’m not discounting the importance of the border.”

“Listen, I care about what’s happening at the border,” Harris said. I’m “in Guatemala because my focus is dealing with the root causes of migration.”

“There may be some who think that that is not important, but it is my firm belief that if we care about what’s happening at the border, we better care about the root causes and address them. And so that’s what I’m doing.”

Harris said yesterday at a press conference with Guatemalan President Alejandro Giammattei:

“I want to emphasize that the goal of our work is to help Guatemalans find hope at home, at the same time I want to be clear to folks in this region who are thinking about making the dangerous trek to the United States-Mexico border – do not come, do not come.

“The United States will continue to enforce our laws and secure our border.

“There are legal methods by which migration can and should occur but we, as one of our priorities, will discourage illegal migration and I believe if you come to our border you will be turned back.”
