Congress Just Sideswiped Chuck Schumer – 15 Senators Co-Sponsor Resolution To Have Him Censured
People all over the country are talking about Chuck Schumer’s eye-opening threats against the Supreme Court.
The senator is trying to do damage control. But outside of an open apology (and taking back what he said), I don’t think that’s going to cut it.
Even the president has called out what the senator said. Even prominent liberal lawyers (some Constitutional experts) have condemned Schumer’s statements.
But words are not enough—where is the action? That’s what Americans want.
It looks like that’s coming from Sen Hawley. And he’s got plenty on board with him.
From Sen Josh Hawley:
Today, U.S. Senator Josh Hawley introduced a resolution to censure Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) for threatening two U.S. Supreme Court Justices. The resolution, cosponsored by 14 Senators upon introduction, condemns the Senate Minority Leader’s remarks at a pro-abortion rally in front of the Supreme Court yesterday, noting that political violence has increased in the United States over the last decade, including the targeting and murder of federal judges and their family members.
Boom. Fifteen senators are banding together to introduce a censure against Chuck Schumer.
They are taking a stand against his wildly inappropriate attack on Supreme Court Justices Gorsuch and Kavanaugh.
The senators joining Hawley are:
- Steve Daines (R-Mont.)
- Mike Braun (R-Ind.)
- Rick Scott (R-Fla.)
- Thom Tillis (R-N.C.)
- Kelly Loeffler (R-Ga.)
- Kevin Cramer (R-N.D.)
- Ben Sasse (R-Neb.)
- Joni Ernst (R-Iowa)
- Mike Lee (R-Utah)
- Ted Cruz (R-Texas)
- David Perdue (R-Ga.)
- Tim Scott (R-S.C.)
- Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.)
- Martha McSally (R-Ariz.)
Notice, they are all Republicans. All of them have a history of standing behind the president’s America-first agenda.
It’s kind of funny how not a single Democrat joined them in this resolution. No member of Congress should stand for what Schumer said.
The Supreme Court is a separate branch of our federal government. It is wholly inappropriate for a senator to demand the court to do anything. Even worse to make threats against them.
Some have even suggested what Schumer did was against the law.
Do you agree?
Every last Democrat should have been on board with this resolution. They need to show the country that they do not support such attacks against our SCOTUS.
They complain whenever Trump tweets a word. Yet they are silent on open threats? Unacceptable.
Hopefully, all Republican senators will join to pass this resolution.
SHARE to thank these senators for taking action against Schumer’s threats!
