Pelosi Thought She Could Delay Senate Impeachment Trial – Turns Out Nancy Doesn’t Know The Rules
Looks like Nancy hasn’t read the Constitution!
In her last, desperate act to rob Americans of their 2016 and 2020 vote, Pelosi is refusing to send her articles of impeachment to the Senate.
How sad and pathetic. I thought the House had “no choice” but to impeach the president? All so the Senate could hold a trial and vote to remove him from office.
Apparently, Pelosi thinks she can dictate what the Senate can do by holding her impeachment articles ransom.
But, it seems she doesn’t even know what the law states. Because even as she plays her little game, McConnell holds all the cards.

The Chief Justice presides over a trial involving the president, but the Senate makes the rules. And the Senate is controlled by Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), who regards what the House has done with contempt…
If Pelosi refuses to submit the articles of impeachment to the Senate, McConnell can convene the Senate anyway, summon the Chief Justice, and swear in the Senators as jurors. Democrats can boycott, but they can’t stop the trial.
McConnell can then propose to dismiss the charges or even hold a vote to acquit the president.
Wow. How long are we going to have to put up with “lawmakers” that don’t even know the law?
Pelosi can refuse to send her articles over to the Senate. But that doesn’t mean they can’t vote on impeachment.
The Constitution says “The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments.” That’s pretty clear.
The House—and the Speaker of the House—cannot interfere with that.
If McConnell wants, he can hold a trial today. All he needs is for the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court to preside. The Chief Justice has to appear—and the Senate will convene.
Even if Democrat Senators protest, they have no choice (unless they don’t want their votes to count).
McConnell can then hold a vote to acquit the president or dismiss the charges entirely.
Pelosi really thinks she can run both the House AND the Senate.
She thinks she can pull one last trick to give Democrats an unfair advantage, ignoring the wishes of Republicans and the rights of the president.
But she’s wrong, yet again. And her party will pay big time for this abuse of power.
