NJ Dem Calls For DOJ To Investigate Entire Trump Admin For “Crimes Against Our Nation And Constitution”

Sharing is caring!

A New Jersey Democrat just went there and is now calling for the Justice Department to investigate the entire Trump administration after Trump leaves office in January.

You knew this was coming and thankfully Biden jumped ahead of this by selectively leaking to NBC that he is not interested in investigating Trump or his administration.

According to Biden’s people, he wants to look forward not backward and if the DOJ goes after Trump he thinks it will divide the country because as Biden correctly points out Trump did get over 70 million votes.

But that didn’t stop Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-N.J.) who actually called for President Trump and others in his administration to be “tried for their crimes against our nation and Constitution,” before saying Trump himself had engaged in “treason.”

“The president has attacked our elections and sought to throttle democracy,” Pascrell said.

“He was rightly impeached by the House of Representatives. He has engaged in treachery, in treason.”

“He has all but given up on governing and protecting our nation and if he had a shred of dignity he would resign today.”

“Failure to hold financial and political wrongdoing accountable in the past has invited greater malfeasance by bad actors,” he added.

“A repeat of those failures in 2021 further emboldens criminality by our national leaders and continues America down the path of lawlessness and authoritarianism.”

“There must be accountability,” he said.

From NBC:

President-elect Joe Biden has privately told advisers that he doesn’t want his presidency to be consumed by investigations of his predecessor, according to five people familiar with the discussions, despite pressure from some Democrats who want inquiries into President Donald Trump, his policies and members of his administration.

Biden has raised concerns that investigations would further divide a country he is trying to unite and risk making every day of his presidency about Trump, said the sources, who spoke on background to offer details of private conversations.

They said he has specifically told advisers that he is wary of federal tax investigations of Trump or of challenging any orders Trump may issue granting immunity to members of his staff before he leaves office. One adviser said Biden has made it clear that he “just wants to move on.”

Another Biden adviser said, “He’s going to be more oriented toward fixing the problems and moving forward than prosecuting them.”
